Reggae Dancehall music is a genre of Jamaican popular music. It started in the late 1970's and in the 1990's has become even more know around the world. Reggae Dancehall was born from digital instruments and faster tempo than traditional roots Reggae music that was very popular in the 1970's. Some of the Reggae Dancehall artist that made Reggae Dancehall of the 1980's to today are King Jammy, Shabba Ranks, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Lady Saw, Sean Paul and Vybz Kartel. Today you can hear alot of Reggae music in many popular music today like, hip hop, pop, latin and alternative. In the 1990's as a young girl growing up in New Jersey my best friend from Peru introduced me to what we called then Spanish Reggae.
